This attractive grouping of trees caught my eye on a walk one winter morning. Just as the composition was properly tuned on the tripod I was astonished to see this young deer, perfectly framed. The first exposure’s click made it prick up its ears, from a distance of 100 metres. After the second click it was gone. Felled just two months later, now the trees are gone too.
