Reeds in Snow. Trentabank, Macclesfield Forest.

If I had to find a particular event that stimulated an interest in landscape photography I would say it happened on a trip to Florida, in December 2006, when I picked up a book by the North American Photographer Clive Butcher filled with wonderful black and white, large format images of the Florida swamps.
I had been using a small digital camera for a few years to record holidays but when we booked a trip to California in 2008 I decided this was the time to invest in a DSLR. My first efforts were not very satisfactory so I attended a couple of photography workshops. I also started looking at the work of a variety of landscape photographers, both online and in books, which continued to raise my interest and provide motivation.
With a liking for travel and some free time I was able to take a few trips and I enjoyed photographing some wonderful landscapes at some well-known photographic locations. I also discovered that I was equally attracted to making images of more restricted scenes, which could often be in places much nearer to home.
As far as my future photography is concerned I have no definite plans, but will hopefully continue enjoying being out in the landscape and making a few images.
