Redcar. Redcar, United Kingdom 2018

Giuseppe makes these larger 16 x 16 prints on a Holga camera. Holgas are toys, plastic film cameras made in Hong Kong in the 1980's. Due to their low-cost construction they are mostly known for their technical limitations and unpredictable results. However Giuseppe uses these cameras as a way to step over modern photographic technicalities in order to focus solely on lighting, composition and emotions. He also likes to emphasise the 'unsharp' nature of Holga photographs by printing them using a 15 x 15 format.

Holga photos: Hahnemühle Bamboo (290 gsm).
Hahnemühle Bamboo is made from 90% Bamboo fibres and 10% cotton combining photography with environmental friendliness. This natural warm-toned, smooth surfaced and optical brightening agent free genuine art paper offers maximum ageing resistance.
