Lightroom Skills Workshop

Wednesday 20th March 2019:

9:30am - 5:30pm (Refreshments & Lunch provided)

Tutor: Adrian Beasley

Limited places to enable plenty of one-to-one tuition

This workshop is designed for beginners and self-taught intermediates wanting to gain a much deeper insight into image organising and editing with Lightroom. You will be working on sample images, or your own if you prefer, in a small group. Your tutor Adrian is an Adobe Certified Expert and delivers training on photo editing and printing all over the country. He has a very engaging teaching style and is a very patient tutor so you will be in good hands.

About the workshop:

If you are looking for a way to organise a growing collection of images and a tool that provides powerful and intuitive editing, Adobe Lightroom is your best choice. It's modestly priced and easy to use but most of all, it allows you to easily manage huge collections of images with ease. It can be used stand-alone or as part of Adobe's growing mobile system to allow sharing and editing on-the-run.

Despite Lightroom's ease of use, getting started with any new program can be daunting. So why not make it easy by joining us for a day packed full of help and advice. We will tune your set-up ready for the thousands of pictures you will be loading and editing over the years to come. By the end of the day you will be confidently importing images and performing a wide range of adjustments ready to export as high quality files for print, email or social media use.

Below is a list of topics included in your workbook and which Adrian will aim to cover during the day, however the workshop is structured to meet the needs of individual participants and the group as they arise:

• How Lightroom works and why it's different from other editors.

• Creating and understanding the catalogue.

• Importing your images and selecting the right options.

• Organising and finding your images.

• Detailed editing of your images, including all the global and local adjustments needed to transform your dull, lifeless images into works of art.

• We will fix blemishes and look at creating Black & White images.

• Finally, we will cover exporting your images to the highest quality for print, email and social media.

The group size is limited to 10 places to ensure that each participant receives plenty of help and support. You will need to bring your own computer loaded with your own copy of Lightroom. Each participant will receive their own detailed printed workbook so you will not have to write anything down, however it is a great place to take extra notes if desired. All the sample images will be provided on the day.
