This workshop is ideal for anybody who has been using Lightroom to a reasonable standard for some time and wants to delve deeper. It is also the perfect follow-on for anybody who may have attended Adrian's Intermediate Lightroom workshop. The workshop will a detailed look at the system, organising, editing and use with Lightroom CC. If you have issues or questions about how to acheive professional results in Lightroom then this is the workshop for you.


 

 About the workshop :

 

This workshop would suit those who have used Lightroom to a reasonable standard for a period of time but are not sure they are using it fully. It is also a perfect follow on for any participants who may have previously attended Adrian's Intermediate Lightroom course here at the gallery.


Agenda:

While we aim to cover the following topics during the day, the workshop is structured by Adrian to cover individual and group needs as they arise. The support material provided to each participant will cover the following topics:

Working with multiple computers, off-line storage and web drives

Re-organising file systems

Backing up and synchronising

Using Lightoom CC with Lightroom Classic

A closer look at Metadata

Histogram informed editing

Using Reference editing mode

Lens correction panel details

Detailed local editing, ideas and problems

Colour casts and toning

The many uses of the Tone curve

HSL applications for Landscapes

Clarity and Dehaze tips and tricks

Sharpening, Noise and Grain

Soft proofing

Printing - editing for print and creating a set of user templates.


You will be working either on sample or your own images on your own computer, in a small group (limited to 10 places) with plenty of guidance from one of the best teachers in the business. Participants will be given their own detailed support material so that they have full notes to take away with them. Sample images will be provided if you do not wish to work on your own images.

Refreshments throughout the day and lunch is included and will be provided by the Joe Cornish Gallery Café.

 

 

The Joe Cornish Gallery is located on Zetland Street yards from the High Street in Northallerton. The town is located close to both the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks and can be accessed by road via the A1 and A19. It also has a railway station on the London to Edinburgh East Coast mainline which is only a 10-15 minute direct walk from the town centre


About your tutor:

Adrian Beasley will be leading the class.  Adrian has been teaching photography for 15 years and digital editing for 10 years with the UK’s leading photo tours company. He is an Adobe Certified Expert and has been working with us here at the Joe Cornish Gallery for the last three years. Adrian has a deep understanding of the software with a patient and engaging teaching style, ideal for beginners and more advanced pupils alike.


 

Booking Terms & Conditions


The following terms and conditions apply in respect of all Joe Cornish Gallery Photographic Workshop bookings.


1. Payment in full or an agreed deposit amount is required at the time of booking .

2. Where applicable, any balance of the workshop price is due by the stipulated date. If the booking is made after this date then the full amount is due at the time of booking.

3. If a cancellation is made by a client we will endeavour to do all we can to fill your place prior to the workshop starting and if successful, we will then refund your payment in full. However if we are unable to fill your place then you would forfeit your payment.

4. The transfer of a booking from one workshop to another will incur an administration fee of £25 and should be notified in writing. A workshop cancellation fee may also apply (see clause 3 above).

5. Joegraphic Limited trading as the Joe Cornish Gallery reserves the right to alter or cancel any workshop. Should an alteration or cancellation become necessary including in the case of force majeure, you will have the choice of of accepting the change, taking an alternative workshop (if this is of a lower price we will refund the difference), or withdrawing from the contract and accepting a refund of all monies paid to Joegraphic Limited.

6. Force majeure is unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, such as war or the threat of war, riots, terrorist activity, civil strife, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, flood or adverse weather conditions.

7. In the event of a specified tutor being unable to attend due to illness or other circumstances beyond our control, we will attempt to provide a replacement. If this is not possible then the workshop will be cancelled and the provisions of clause 5 will come into effect.

8. The type of workshops we offer requires flexibility and must allow for alternatives. For this reason the outline itinerary must be taken as an indication of what may take place on the workshop.

9. Joegraphic Limited does not accept liability for any loss or additional expense caused by delay or interruption to travel services through weather conditions, civil disturbances, industrial action, strikes, wars, floods or sickness. Such losses or additional expenses are the responsibility of the passenger.

10. It is the responsibility of the client to obtain the appropriate travel insurance cover before beginning the workshop . The insurance must cover the loss, expenses and damages arising from, including but not limited to, the cancellation of the workshop (whether in whole or in part), personal accident and injury, medical and repatriation costs (for those travelling from abroad), loss of baggage and personal money and belongings and flight cancellations and delays (if applicable).
