The inaugural Joe Cornish Gallery “Photography Summer Open Exhibition” will be launched on Saturday 16 July with a party at the gallery from 2pm to 5pm, all are welcome to attend. The exhibition will continue to run at the Joe Cornish Gallery for the rest of July and throughout August.
The images listed below were selected from over 200 entries for exhibition in the Photography Summer Open by judges Joe Cornish, Peter Hicks and Steve Gosling.
The judges were so impressed with the quality of the submissions that it was decided to add a Bronze category to the individual photograph Commendations and special Gold, Silver and Bronze Portfolio Commendations to honour the quality of work for up to four images by a single photographer.
Joe Cornish has written an open letter to everyone who submitted an entry to the competition to explain the reasoning behind the judges’ decisions to award additional commendations and to offer some useful tips for creating successful photographs.
Commendations were given for the following categories:
Gold Single – 3 awards given for individual photographs
Silver Single – 6 awards given for individual photographs
Bronze Single– 9 awards given for individual photographs
Gold portfolio – 1 award given for a body of work
Silver portfolio – 1 award given for a body of work
Bronze portfolio – 1 award given for a body of work
