Etran Finatawa at the Joe Cornish Gallery
Event/Launch Dates: 11th June 2013
We’re excited to have Etran Finatawa from Niger, West Africa, returning to perform in the new Long Gallery on Tuesday 11th June! Their music “blends the traditional music of the Wodaabe and Tuareg people with western instruments”. The band are returning to play this small and intimate venue before visiting Applegarth Primary School in Northallerton the next day; a fantastic experience for local children. The gallery has always had strong connections with the tribes of West Africa, and continues to support its tradespeople and their families.
The band will play two 45 minute acoustic sets, with an interval for themed refreshments (which are included in the price of your ticket). This is a rare chance to see music of this kind in Northallerton, but ticket numbers are limited due to the intimacy of the venue.
Tickets cost £20 and can be purchased in the gallery, online, and by calling or emailing the gallery. There will be an opportunity to meet the band, buy their handmade, artisan jewellery and copies of their brand new CD.
We look forward to seeing you!
