Mixed media study in primitive style of a dog on a beach. The original painting was conceived as a triptych although all three studies work equally well as individual images. We feel there's an element of 'waiting for Godot' in the images... a sense of the passage of time inherent in all three.
Originally a photo-real painter, John now devotes his creative energy into a more emotive, expressive form of mark-making which resonates with the character and individuality of his subjects. His work is an eclectic amalgam of early Hockney blended with essence of Modigliani and Breughel!
