Union Canal, Falkirk - Greetings Card
The Union Canal connecting Falkirk and Edinburgh was near a major transportation route in the 19th century, key to development of industry in the area. Today the canal is used recreationally by canoeists, rowers and narrowboats. This picture was taken on what to my eye is the prettiest stretch of the canal, between Polmont and Linlithgow. I waited till the sun was just peering above the horizon casting early morning light on the hawthorns in blossom.
