River Duddon - Greetings Card
As the second most visited National Park in England it seems implausible that there might be any overlooked corners of this landscape yet Dunnerdale is definitely one. William Wordsworth was moved to write a sonnet to the River Duddon but today people, eager to see the impressive mountain passes of Wrynose and Hardknott, ignore the gentler, but still rugged, charms of the valley through which it flows. This miniature gorge lies near the head of the valley where the river passes under the ancient Birks Bridge.
