Alnwick Castle and the Lion Bridge - Greetings Card - Image © Simon Fraser
"Alnwick Castle is often regarded as the best medieval castle in northern England. It dates from the 11th century and has been the seat of the Percy family and the Dukes of Northumberland for 700 years. The Lion Bridge spans the river Aln and replaces a bridge destroyed by a flood in 1770. It is named after the sculpture of the Percy Lion, created in 1773."
