Barbara's spontaneous impressionist painting style is inspired by the legacy of the Industrial Landscape of the North East of England and by the ever changing beauty of Nature. Her subjects typically include seascape, industrial landscape and flowers. Barbara’s preferred medium - water colour, is often embellished with mixed media, applied with brush, sticks or whatever is at hand. Her loose, contemporary style feeds on the mood, feel and colour of her subjects. She works at speed to produce refreshingly exciting compositions with a life, vitality and personality of their own.
