Subjective Seascape 03, Sandsend, North Yorkshire. An atmospheric fine art print taken using a lens-less 5x4 pinhole plate camera, with a single small aperture – effectively a light-proof box with a small hole in one side.
The long exposure required heightens awareness of the constant shifting environment, push and pull of tide and passage of time. The out-of-date film stock Georgina chooses delivers an unpredictable visual dimension to her work as she can never to certain how the film is going to react to the colours of the landscape. The end result is a subjective, minimal seascape, enigmatic, contemplative and 'Turner-esque' in mood and feel.
